Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a mid-sized plaintiff's law firm in downtown Chicago to hire a Settlement Coordinator. This is a full-time, hybrid position (three days in-office) with a salary range of $55-75K DOE and excellent benefits.
This role is ideal for someone with 1-3+ years of law firm experience who enjoys a blend of legal and financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the settlement process from start to finish, including tracking timelines and ensuring timely collection of funds
- Communicate with lien holders to obtain documentation and resolve outstanding issues
- Draft and prepare necessary legal and financial documents related to settlements
- Review and process settlement agreements for accuracy before submission
- Coordinate payment processing with the finance department and confirm receipt of funds
- Maintain accurate case management records and settlement status updates
- Provide backup support to the Lead Settlement Coordinator and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- 1-3+ years of experience in a law firm (plaintiff or defense) preferred; finance, insurance, or accounting experience a plus
- Lien experience strongly preferred, but not required
- Bachelor's degree preferred (will consider equivalent work experience; degree completion will be verified)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in case management or legal billing software is a plus
- Phone interview with the Director of Finance
- Second round with the Liens Attorney and Director of Finance (in person preferred; virtual possible)
- If second round is virtual, a third round in person will be required before an offer
