Job Description
Morningstar DBRS' PrivateCorporateCredit team is seeking a highly motivated and analytical professionalwith4 - 6years of experience incredit analysis, preferably with high-yieldcorporateissuers. As an Assistant Vice President, you will play a key role in assessing the creditworthiness of small to medium-sized, highly leveraged companies across diverse industries. You will contribute directly to Morningstar DBRS' mission of providing independent, insightful credit opinions that help investors and market participants make informed decisions. The role also offers meaningful interaction with senior leaders, lenders, investors, and bankers, while keeping you at the forefront of market and industry trends.
This role is based in ourChicago or New Yorkoffice, with a hybrid work arrangement (minimumthree days per week in-office).
Responsibilities:
Lead the surveillanceof a portfolio of small to medium-sized, highly leveraged companies
Conduct fundamentalcredit analysis, and prepare high-impact rating committee packages
Lead dynamic rating committee discussions and communicatecredit views
Build trusted relationships with market participants, including lenders, investors, and bankers
Manage a diverse portfolio, ensuring timely and high-quality credit opinions
Support continuous process improvement and database development
Deliver timely and insightful writtencredit
Qualifications:
4 -6 years of experience in credit analysis, corporate lending, or related fields
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline (CFA designation preferred)
Strong foundation in credit analysis and capital markets, ideally with exposure to high-yield or middle-market credits
Familiarity with legal documentation tied to corporate debtand loanissuance
Exceptional analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial statements
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Proactive, self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Demonstrated interest in private credit or private assets, and a desire to deepen expertise in this growing area
