Job DescriptionPosition Purpose:
The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations for the Hendrickson corporate staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. They review financial data and support audits and budgeting processes. Their role is key in maintaining financial integrity and improving accounting efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Lead financial processes for the Aii Systems Business Unit, including the monthly close process, preparation of the annual financial plan, and submission of quarterly forecasts while ensuring compliance with deadlines and accuracy in reporting.
- Provide training and support for financial systems and processes across the organization.
- Lead the preparation of the annual financial plan and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor expenditures and performance against plan and forecasts.
- Develop financial models, analyze variances, and generate monthly reporting packages with commentary.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to Aii Systems leadership.
- Ensure accurate recording of manufacturing and overhead costs.
- Partner with Aii Operations to communicate and monitor budgets.
- Prepare and track margin analysis and cost reductions for new project programs.
- Monitor and track Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) spending.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for the corporate general ledger.
- Generate monthly financial reports and perform account analyses.
- Analyze variances and engage with corporate departments (i.e., Marketing, Sales, IT, HR, etc.) to address discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with Hendrickson financial policies and procedures.
- Manage global compliance processes, including internal reviews and action plans.
- Direct activities with internal auditors and respond to audit requests.
- Provide support and training for financial systems.
- Lead the global account reconciliation process and build workflows, transformation rules, and reports within the system.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure complementary user control compliance as outlined in vendor System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports.
- Maintain accurate corporate fixed asset registers and perform annual physical inventories.
- Monitor purchase card usage, prepare intercompany billings, and reconcile monthly statements.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial reports.
- Ensure thorough documentation of technical job procedures to minimize control risks.
- Execute special analyses, reports, and projects as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in finance, accounting, or related position is required.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- The ability to travel up to 5% of the time on an as needed basis is required.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
- Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) pronouncement is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. are required.
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning system is required.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
