Job Description
JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Commercial Strategy and Analytics is a key part of Maker's Pride's "commercial engine", supporting the creation and execution of commercial strategies and initiatives. Reporting into the Vice President, Customer & Commercial Strategy, the Director will help inform Maker's Pride's strategies and influence decision-making through high-quality analysis and effective presentation of findings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pricing: Develop and maintain Maker's Pride's pricing strategy, establishing clear guardrails based on customer and category strategies and partnering with Commercial Finance on execution of that strategy.
- Lead thinking and analysis to evolve and refine the approach to pricing
- Conduct analytics to monitor pricing execution, understand performance of past pricing efforts and identify key opportunities for future pricing
- Identify opportunities for margin improvement at the customer and product level, and lead execution and tracking of corrective measures
- Commercial Analytics: provide analytical and strategic support on high-priority Commercial projects, such as scenario analysis for RFPs or major contract renewals
- Best Practices: establish best practices across several Commercial functional areas, including:
- Establish guardrails for our customer contracts, incorporating feedback from Legal, Commercial and Operational terms, and maintain inventory of key contract terms across largest customers, and identify key opportunities to improve terms in future negotiations
- Establish templates and process for a post-mortem review on major commercial projects to maximize lessons learned
- Competitive Intelligence: lead Maker's Pride's efforts to monitor developments in the co-manufacturing industry, including the development of a system to facilitate the collection and synthesis of competitive intelligence from internal and external sources
- Market Insights: drive adoption of market, customer and consumer insights among Commercial team and Executive leadership to improve understanding of market drivers and inform decision making
- Other duties as assigned
KEY COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Strong analytical background, with experience gathering, structuring and analyzing data from multiple sources to inform decision-making
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and present analysis and recommendations to influence a senior audience
- Track record of working independently to drive projects, while leveraging collaborative cross-functional partners to drive projects to completion
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in an organized fashion
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years' experience, or MBA and 4 years' experience in an analytical or strategic role such as strategy consulting, commercial finance or commercial analytics, preferably with experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods
- Advanced knowledge of business software including PowerPoint, Excel
- Effective verbal and written communications skills, for both internal and external audiences
- Possess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SPSS, SAS) and mastery in data analysis languages including SQL. Experience with syndicated market data (Circana, NielsenIQ) is a plus
- Prior people management experience preferred with a track record for leading
- Ability to travel up to 10%

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $160,266 - $240,400/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
