Position Overview:
Our client, a leading name in the consumer and commercial products space, is building out a dynamic internal creative team/studio and is looking for a hands-on Design Manager to help shape the visual identity of their growing portfolio of brands. This is a unique opportunity to help mentor a talented group of designers and drive high-impact creative work across packaging, branding, and marketing campaigns. 

Location:
This role is mostly remote, but you must be local to the Chicagoland area as you will be expected to go onsite to their office in Gurnee 4-5 times per month for onsite proof reviews, physical mock ups and key meetings. This role offers 10% bonus potential on top of base salary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of 3 designers, offering mentorship and creative direction.
- Develop and execute compelling visual concepts and design for product launches, packaging, shopper marketing and brand campaigns.
- Ensure all creative work meets high standards of quality, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Collaborate closely with marketing and cross-functional teams to bring brand stories to life.
- Manage multiple projects across various timelines and brand categories.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging technologies (including AI) to keep creative output fresh and innovative.
- Oversee the production process, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to final deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external creative partners.

What We're Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience in graphic design, with a strong emphasis on CPG packaging and branding.
- At least 1-2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- A portfolio that demonstrates a strong command of packaging design and shopper marketing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Solid understanding of print production processes, including digital and flexographic printing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Experience or interest in AI implementation
- Digital/Video experience strong PLUS
- Agency experience strong PLUS

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
