Electrical Distribution Engineer (FE/EIT)
Location: Hybrid role that is primarily remote with occasional in-office requirements in Shorewood, IL
Salary: $95,000 – $110,000 annually, plus excellent benefits

We’re looking for an Electrical Distribution Engineer (FE/EIT) who thrives on designing solutions that make an impact—from modernizing utility systems to supporting sustainable infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll collaborate with project teams to design, adapt, and deliver top-quality plans for both overhead and underground utility distribution projects. Your day-to-day will include:

Creating complete design packages, including sketches, cost estimates, and bills of materials

Performing calculations for cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading

Applying knowledge of NESC standards, utility regulations, and permitting processes

Conducting on-site inspections to assess and verify project requirements

Coordinating with stakeholders on vegetation management, third-party attachments, and outage planning

Guiding team members and ensuring quality control throughout project lifecycles
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET accredited)

FE or EIT certification (required)

Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and design software (CAD, GIS)

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Good Faith Salary Range: The annual starting salary for this position is between $95,000 to $110,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
