Summary
The Assistant Quality Control Manager supports the Quality Control Manager in overseeing inspection, testing, and documentation processes to ensure ATMI products meet company, PCI, and customer standards. This role coordinates daily activities of the QC team, assists in training and mentoring inspectors, and reviews production records to maintain compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee operations of the Quality Control department, including: Quality Control Engineers, Quality Control Supervisors, Quality Inspectors
- Implement and sustain new technology or processes to improve the department
- Train and educate Quality Control Inspectors, Supervisors, and Engineers
- Ensure that all production practices follow the Quality System Manual (QSM)
- Apply knowledge of PCI MNL 116, PCI MNL 117, ACI, and ASTM standards
- Navigate job specifications to ensure compliance during production
- Promote and uphold a strong quality culture throughout the plant
- Maintain positive outcomes from PCI audits
- Manage internal audit schedules and reporting
- Assist with optimization or development of concrete mix designs
- Report to the Quality Manager on quality performance across the company, including: Costs, Quality reports and audits from plant, field, and engineering, Processes and procedures
- Obtain ASNT NDT Level II certification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Concrete-related experience preferred
- PCI Level I and II certification
- Three to five years of management experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Material testing and laboratory experience preferred
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Good mathematical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical journals preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong work ethic and sound decision-making skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to start work at 4 am
- Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb onto and down from equipment
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk long distances in an industrial setting
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions including inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust
