Job Description
Manage freight deliveries through processing, identifying, counting, separating, and scanning freight; operating computer software and basic applications to track and identify freight; unloading freight from trailers manually or with power equipment; and maintaining records, logs, and forms. Organize the work area by stacking empty pallets and moving empty pallets using a pallet jack or power equipment. Maintain a safe work area by checking the integrity of trailers and pallets, e.g., leaks, pest infestations, or trailer damage. Communicate with individuals or groups, verbally and/or in writing, e.g., customers, suppliers, associates. Apply labels to the correct location on freight, pallets, or merchandise. Provide basic maintenance to receiving equipment, e.g., cleaning and changing labels and ribbons.
