Job Description
Department: Office of Human Resources - Division: Benefits
In this role, you will:
● Assist all employees, retirees, and their dependents with inquiries and concerns related to City benefits and retirement matters.
● Manage and monitor employee leaves such as FMLA, medical, parental, personal, and LTD, ensuring compliance through communication with employees, supervisors, and third-party administrators.
● Serve as the City’s liaison for IMRF, handling employee enrollments, changes, retirements, and related reporting. Manage pension deductions and coordinate with agencies on IMRF, Police, and Fire pension matters.
● Manage Worker’s Compensation claims, coordinate with insurance carriers and healthcare providers, support return-to-work efforts, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
● Assist in the administration of retirement benefits by managing payroll deductions, pension codes, and refunds, and auditing benefit payments for employees and retirees.
● Administer COBRA and ensure departing employees’ benefits are terminated or converted appropriately. Disseminated required notices to employees and retirees concerning benefits.
