Job Description
The Head Cook (Chef) will be responsible for directing and participating in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of foods in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position involves planning and pricing menu items, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records and accounts. The Head Cook will also schedule and supervise kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and efficient kitchen operations.
Responsibilities include: Directing and participating in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of foods according to established recipes and quality standards. Planning and pricing menu items to ensure variety, consistency, and cost-effectiveness. Ordering supplies, ingredients, and equipment as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations. Maintaining accurate records of inventory, purchases, and accounts related to food preparation and supplies. Scheduling, supervising, and training kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and adherence to food safety standards. Monitoring food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to meet customer expectations. Ensuring compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety regulations in the kitchen. Collaborating with management to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and develop new menu items.
Experience Requirement: Requires a minimum of 12 months of experience working as a Head Chef, Cook, Food Service Manager, or in another role involving the preparation of food in a restaurant setting.
Salary: $41,059 annually.
