Founded in 1963, Marcy Laboratories is a contract manufacturer of fine fragrance and home fragrance products with locations in West Chicago and Glendale Heights, IL.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a staff accountant to join our team. Staff Accountant is responsible for general plant accounting including month-end close, cost accounting, reconciliation and process improvements. Must have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to work within a team setting. Reports to the Vice President of Finance.

 Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standard costing systems for products and services.
  • Perform periodic cost rolls/updates.
  • Prepare and provide analysis of cost variances.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to provide support relating to cost-related matters.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.
  • Prepare cost forecasts, budgets, and profitability analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies
  • Implement best practices in cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, GAAP, and company policies.
  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • All other duties assigned.

Position Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in Cost Accounting experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in manufacturing experience.
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
