Job Description
Essential Functions- Subject to management approval, serves as the Information Technology (IT) Applications Manager for the IL Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois State Police (ISP) directing, coordinating and managing the development of objectives and establishing work priorities for statewide applications and programs in alignment with Chief Information Officer (CIO) guidance.
- Advises the CIO in the development of long-range plans, special projects and the budget for DoIT/ISP operations.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Directs the ongoing evaluation of all sections' activities and staffing to ensure that staff and resources are being utilized in the most efficacious manner with regard to IT goals and objectives.
- Serves as a representative and confers on behalf of CIO, as delegated.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a management information systems environment.
- Requires experience in management and support of large applications and information technology projects in support of a robust IT project portfolio.
