Job Description

This position serves as an Application Developer, supporting the Department of Public Health (DPH). This position will perform difficult and specialized professional work in the Information Technology area of Application Services and work as a member of a team of developers and analysts establishing and maintaining assigned applications. In this role you will perform complex analysis and consult with the Project Manager on data analysis for input into the Illinois Disease Surveillance System and other assigned systems and applications. In addition, you will provide input and assist the Project Manager with the creation and modifications of design documents and assist with the implementation and deployment of assigned applications to the application servers.

• Under general direction, serves as an Application Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), performing difficult and specialized professional work in the Information Technology area of Application Services.
• Performs complex analysis and consults with the Project Manager on data analysis for input into the Illinois Disease Surveillance System and other assigned systems and applications.
• Provides input and assists the Project Manager with the creation and modifications of design documents.
• Assists the Project Manager with the implementation and deployment of assigned applications to the application servers. 
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. 
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
