Job Description
- Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently load inbound products from trucks and unload outbound products onto trailers.
- Put-away and Storage: Transport palletized goods (food, pharmaceuticals, etc.) to their designated storage locations within the freezer or cooler using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various types of forklifts, such as:
- Stand-up Reach Trucks (most common for narrow aisles)
- Sit-down Counterbalance Forklifts
- Electric Pallet Jacks / Walkie-Riders
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols to prevent accidents, product damage, and temperature abuse. This includes proper stacking, securing loads, and following speed limits.
- Cold Chain Integrity: Ensure that doors to temperature-sensitive areas are closed promptly to prevent temperature fluctuations that could spoil the product.
- Basic Equipment Checks: Perform pre-shift inspections (e.g., check for hydraulic leaks, tire condition, horn, brakes) and report any maintenance issues.
