Join our team as a Catering Event Sales Manager at the Embassy Suites!
Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced Catering Sales Manager to join the team at the award-winning Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford Riverfront! This role plays a key part in driving conference center and catering revenue while delivering exceptional service for corporate meetings, weddings, and special events.
As the Catering Sales Manager, you will partner closely with the Director of Sales and General Manager to maximize revenue opportunities, oversee catering operations, and ensure that every event exceeds guest expectations. You'll work with a dynamic hospitality team in a beautiful, high-performing property located in the heart of downtown Rockford.
What You'll Do
Partner with the Director of Sales and General Manager to drive sales for meetings, conferences, and events.
Develop and implement creative strategies to meet or exceed sales goals and market share targets.
Manage all aspects of the catering sales process - from lead generation to event execution - ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
Build relationships through networking, site tours, and community involvement.
Prepare detailed forecasts, reports, and budgets to support hotel business objectives.
Collaborate on marketing initiatives and assist with social media, website updates, and promotional materials.
Represent the Embassy Suites brand and Gorman & Company with professionalism and enthusiasm in all client interactions and industry events.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in hotel catering or event sales, ideally within a full-service or upscale property.
Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (Tuesday-Saturday), including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required.
