Job Description
Contributing to the formulation of company and project design philosophy and adhering strictly to this philosophy in the execution of the work and in assigning tasks to junior staff; Complying with basic zoning, building code, accessibility, and other regulatory requirements, and ensuring conformance by the project team; Preparing design and technical drawings and solutions for complex architectural and interdisciplinary problems; Independently developing solutions to architectural problems; Contributing to the project BIM execution plan (BEP) and work, planning in conjunction with senior team leaders including the timing and format of models, drawings, mockups, schedules, data summaries and specifications; Developing and reviewing designs and details; Coordinating work with others on the project team and with outside project consultants; Representing the company during the construction phase and performing all company construction phase activities, such as reviewing shop drawings, responding to Contractor questions (RFI’s), or participating in BIM coordination meetings with Contractor and Consultants with minimum supervision of the Project Architect and Project Manager; Researching and promoting opportunities for new or innovative system applications; Actively looking for and implementing techniques to improve quality and efficiency; Participating in Studio and Firm events; Attending Industry and Business Development Events; and Participating in all required continuing education sessions. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Architecture and one year’s experience in position or one year’s experience in Architecture field; and experience with Revit; Grasshopper; Rhino; Enscape; AutoCAD; SketchUp; BlueBeam; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Must be licensed Architect in Illinois. Telecommuting/Hybrid may be permitted within commuting distance of Chicago office. Benefits include PTO, 401(k) and ins. Salary: $76,000 to $90,000/year.
