We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Assurance Director to join the Not-for-Profit & Education team in our Chicago office.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to alternate time between both remote and office. YOUR TEAM.

This position will support our Not-for-Profit & Education practice, which includes associations, foundations, Community Development Financial Institutions, higher education organizations, social service organizations and healthcare providers. Aligning yourself to this industry group allows you to work with clients driving community development, addressing inequities, promoting health, and propelling the industry forward with market-leading technologies and processes designed to better serve the people who live, work, and trust within their spaces. You will work on a team with other Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners. This team has a passion for what they do and a focus on consistently delivering value to our clients and helping make their missions possible

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

As an audit director, your primary responsibilities include providing technical consultation to our Not-for-Profit & Education clients, serving as the engagement leader, growing our practice through business development activities and developing and mentoring staff.

Our professionals work on a variety of engagements including, but not limited to the following:
  • Audits
  • Reviews
  • Compilations
  • Agreed-upon procedures
  • Other attestation engagements
The ideal candidate will possess expertise and experience within the not-for-profit and health care sectors and have experience working with single and compliance audits, the Uniform Guidance, U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS and HUD. . In addition, the candidate must have proven experience directing and driving the success of multiple engagements, managing budgetary and time constraints, and delivering a high-level of client satisfaction.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • BS/BA accounting; CPA required
  • Minimum 10+ years audit & accounting experience in a public accounting arena
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge in US GAAP and GAAS, Single and Compliance audits, the Uniform Guidance and HUD regulations.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit preparation software; DAS or CCH experience a plus
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Experience and a commitment to participating in externally facing business development activities
  • Record of generating leads and opportunities for audit, tax and advisory services

In Chicago, the salary range for an Audit Director is $180,000 to $280,000. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded, and inclusive parental benefits, and access to best-in-class learning and development platforms, to name a few.
