Job Description
Tool & Die Machinist
OTTO’s opportunity:
Our Tool & Die Machinist is responsible for setting up machinery in the Dies Plus / OTTO Machine Shop in a short run environment.
Specifically, the Tool & Die Machinist will:
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Responsible for inspecting products on an independent basis per OTTO’s inspection procedures
- Ability to make wear off-sets
- Assist operator in training
- Guide machine operators to maintain production flow
- Basic understanding of speeds and feeds
- Basic understanding of the methods and layout in which the parts are set-up and run
- Capable of machining from CAD Models (die design)
- Complete math aptitude through trigonometry
- Capable of generating programs of line using Mastercam or Solutionware Cad Cam (training available)
- Capable of using CAD CAM system to generate programs for 3D machining
- Basic understanding of tool and die concepts and functions
- Be able to create DXF files out of Cad Models
- Assist in the design of piece parts for manufacturability
- Assist in supervising when machine shop supervisor is absent
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
