Our farm is owned and operated in Southern Illinois. We grow soft red winter wheat, corn and soybeans. We currently operate on approximately 5,000 acres. We can store nearly all the grain we raise in our own storage, including bins and storage bags. We have equipment including late model John Deere and Case IH ranging from JD 8400R tractor, S680 and S690 Combine, JD 4038 Sprayer and 4045 Spreader, CaseIH Steiger tractors and Quadtracs, Kenworth trucks with Timpte hopper bottoms and Alumatech dump trailers, Ford Pickup trucks, Ford Service truck, forklifts, and more. Employee will assist with the primary growing season with planting, spraying, tillage, fertility applications, land maintenance and upkeep, harvest, hauling and farm maintenance projects. Employees will assist with mixing and applying chemicals, applying fertilizer, clean/maintain grain bins, haul grain from field to storage locations, and dump loads into bins. Employees must have a positive attitude, and willingness to work through difficulties, and have a willingness to work late when weather forecast or crow growth stage demands. We need seasonal employees assist with all aspects of our operation. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, sprayers, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, attach equipment extensions or accessories, record agricultural data, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Additional duties may apply within the reasonable context of any/all row crop operation as they may arise. No commercial truck driving is required. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
