Job Description
Essential Functions- Subject to management approval, serves as the Illinois Century Network (ICN) Operations Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), planning, designing, and implementing long-term network strategies to maintain a secure, robust, and reliable broadband network for ICN constituents.
- Develops, implements, and manages policies, procedures, and operational practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, robust, and secure ICN network while adhering to DoIT and industry best practices.
- Develops and manages ICN operations budget and procurement and prepares and manages the ICN operations budget, including forecasting and cost analysis.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in management information systems, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a directly related Information Technology field.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private business Information Technology organization.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience supervising a team of Information Technology professionals in a large and highly complex public or private IT organization.
