Job Description
Essential Functions- Under general direction, serves as an Application Developer & Systems Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) performing difficult and specialized professional work in the Information Technology areas of applications and systems services.
- Performs program coding, testing and implementation of Information Technology application systems.
- Serves as liaison with vendors to resolve complex software and equipment issues related to business objects and other reporting or software development tools utilized by the team.
- Performs coding utilizing advanced JAVA programming techniques e.g. Object-Oriented Programming.
- Assists in the implementation of application configuration in all tiers of a multi-tier web based and/or cloud-based application and deployment to various application environments including production.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through attendance in meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in application services or a related Information Technology field.
