The Associate Director of Connections and Programming leads the development, planning, and execution of campus programming that fosters student connection, belonging, and retention at SIUE. This position provides strategic oversight of the department's comprehensive campus programming efforts, including traditions, affinity-based programs, and large-and small-scale events - designed to enhance the student experience and promote engagement. The Associate Director supervises two professional staff members and a team of 5-10 student employees within the Campus Activities Board, providing leadership in implementing the department's programming vision and advancing student success.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of campus programming that fosters student connection, belonging, and retention.
  • Provide strategic oversight for comprehensive programming efforts, including traditions, affinity-based programs, and large- and small-scale events.
  • Managing complex budgets and expenditures for a variety of departmental accounts ensuring compliance with institutional fiscal policies and appropriate allocation of resources across programs and initiatives.
  • Enhance the student experience by promoting meaningful engagement across campus.
  • Select, train supervise, develop, and evaluate two professional staff members and up to 10 student employees within the Campus Activities Board in executing the programming vision of the department.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to foster a vibrant, inclusive environment and provide leadership for marketing and promotional strategies that drive awareness and participation.
  • Provide leadership in implementing the department's programming vision and advancing student success.

FLSA: Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
