 Duties may include: Majority of work will include operating various equipment (combines, tractors, trucks, etc.) for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing and harvesting of crops. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Maintain flood and sprinkler irrigation systems. Workers will also be responsible for grain handling and driving semi-trucks to haul farm commodities to grain elevators on and off the farm, weighing crop-filled containers, and recording weights and other identifying information. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping such as picking up sticks in way of machinery paths. This job involves manual labor, lifting, carrying, long days in the heat. Rain days are typically spent in the shop repairing equipment and preparing for the next days work & other related Agricultural Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org).
