Job Description
Essential Functions• Under general direction, serves as an Information Technology/Communications Systems Specialist I for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), performing routine and moderately complex call center support at the Telecom Provisioning Unit of the Customer Service Center (CSC) for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), voice, video, data, and wireless services and equipment in accordance with DoIT operational standards and guidelines.
• Coordinates completion of requests using appropriate reporting tools according to the established procedures and standards and maintains documentation.
• Diagnoses problem source and coordinates with internal organizational support and operations groups and/or with vendors to identify cause and implement appropriate corrections to resolve issues related to installations.
• Participates in the development of methods and procedures, and training programs to improve skill levels of staff associated with the CSC products, services, and processes.
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties and responsibilities enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with major coursework in electronic engineering, radio/television, telecommunications, or data processing.
- Requires two (2) years of professional experience in communications systems designs.

- Requires one (1) year of experience as a Telecommunications Specialist.
