Job Description
Luhr Crosby is hiring a Diesel/Construction Equipment Mechanic!
A Diesel/Construction Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing machinery, and ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Inspect machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, or other issues accurately. This includes testing components and systems to diagnose problems effectively.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, general maintenance, and major repairs. Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts to restore equipment functionality.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work on each individual machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment. This includes proper disposal of hazardous materials and keeping tools and equipment in good condition.
- Duties may cover repair to air systems, hydraulics, electrical, and diesel engines.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Proven proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair machinery
- Ability to notice small issues that could lead to larger problems if not addressed
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and determine the best course of action for repairs
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs
- Must be able to work in various positions
