Job Description

Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Support Drive Unit production through developing inspection methods, analyzing our product, creating solutions, Advanced Product Quality Planning and problem-solving methodologies. Develop inspection methods to analyze product and process quality. Improve product/process quality by defining/implementing recommendations for change. Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve products/process. Ensure products/process adhere to company and industry quality standards. Brainstorm and drive ideas to create solutions for identified problems. Monitor and steer systematic problems through operations system (Rivian Concern System). Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business. Document results and findings after inspections are carried out. Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process. Work together with relevant teams in commissioning new line(s) for new products from concept to pilot line production and mass production. Develop, implement and optimize production process through inputs and outputs in all aspects to ensure predictable process performance that supports business goals. Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness by understanding process capabilities through data analysis from various sources. Lead Kaizen projects to minimize waste and maximize yield. Responsible for diagnosing issues found during the manufacturing process and drive corrective actions. Collect data and develop visualization for data driven operational and financial decisions through predictive insights into process performance by integration of factory data systems. Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA). Create and maintain manufacturing job instructions and associated processes. Analyze existing processes, identify bottlenecks and implement solutions using Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies. Domestic travel required approx. 20% of the time.

RQMTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in any occupation involving: industrial, or mechanical, or manufacturing engineering. Experience must include working on: Supplier Quality Systems Audits, Control Plans, PPM’s monthly tracking, and PPAP; Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies, APQP, 8D, DFMEA, and PFMEA; Statistical process control, control charts, MSA, and Minitab; Manufacturing/assembly process and Metrology equipment; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Data  analysis and visualization software; and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Salary Range: $99,000-$131,000/yr.
