On farms, the Driver will safely drive heavy trucks and tractor-trailers (Volvo and Kenworth hauling at least 80,000 lbs pulling a hopper bottom) to transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from farm construction sites. They will maneuver vehicles in tight spaces, rural roads, and farm properties with minimal disruption to farm operations. Duties include loading and securing lumber, metal framing, tools, and machinery using chains, straps, tarps, or other securement methods, as well as safely unloading materials at designated locations using forklifts, or other lifting devices as needed. The Driver will verify that all loads are balanced and compliant with weight limits and coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery of materials. They will also transport waste materials, debris, or old structures away from farm sites for proper disposal or recycling. The role demands physical activity, including frequent use of arms and legs and full-body movements such as balancing, walking, stooping, lifting, and pulling.
