Position SummaryC5T is seeking an Air Mobility Operations / 618 AOC and AFFOR Staff Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a multi-disciplinary action research team working with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Mobility Command (AMC). This position supports transformation initiatives at AMC Headquarters and contributes to complex organizational research efforts. The SME applies deep operational and staff expertise to ensure research outcomes and innovative solutions are grounded in current DoD and USAF doctrine, concepts, and tactics. This role involves close daily collaboration with senior government civilian and military leaders, contractor teammates, and C5T colleagues. Location: Scott Air Force Base, IL (AMC Headquarters). Work will primarily take place in government workspaces, with some time in company offices and occasional telework as mission needs allow.
Key Responsibilities- Applies in-depth knowledge of AMC operational processes, MAJCOM Headquarters staff functions, and AFFOR staff roles.
- Collaborates with research teammates to assess staff procedures and coordination mechanisms.
- Partners with government stakeholders to design and conduct organizational improvement initiatives.
- Maintains current understanding of DoD, USAF, and AMC doctrine and policies.
- Participates in research project design, planning, and execution.
- Collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data.
- Translates research findings into actionable leadership recommendations.
- Prepares and delivers high-quality briefings and reports.
- Documents activities and ensures compliance with security requirements.
- 10+ years of uniformed experience in airlift, air refueling, or global mobility missions.
- 2+ years of MAJCOM-level staff or 618 AOC experience.
- Understanding of AFFOR staff roles in doctrine and operations.
- Ability to engage senior leaders.
- Knowledge of AMC Headquarters structure and processes.
- Completion of Intermediate or Senior Developmental Education.
- Expert written and verbal communication skills. Ability to obtain a Secret (or higher) clearance.
- Experience with AFFOR staff processes at AMC.
- Current or recent HQ AMC (especially A3) experience.
- Familiarity with AMC transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Palantir Foundry / Envision.
