Volt is immediately hiring Community Specialist, Editorial in Irvine, CA.As a Community Specialist, Editorial, you will:
- As an Associate Editor for the Game franchise, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of player-facing communications for all Game franchise titles.
- The ideal candidate is a curious and efficient self-starter who understands the editorial process in a rigorous live operations environment.
- They have experience working within a gaming community and ideally a deep knowledge of the Diablo franchise and its communities.
- They have experience working with development teams as a liaison to build bridges, trust, and foster constructive dialogue with the community, and have experience working with broader marketing and publishing teams, supporting cohesive communication strategies.
- Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Create compelling product communications such as blogs, patch notes, in-game messages, and more
- Contribute to content strategy and player-facing communications, including active engagement on community channels and reactive messaging
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and work hours as needed during critical phases of game development and live operations
Hybrid at our Irvine office (Tuesday-Thursday) is preferred, but open to full remote for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Familiarity with ARPG's; understanding of game mechanics, community channels, and content creators
- Minimum two years' experience working with product and brand communication teams and copywriting
- Minimum two years' experience with and in-depth knowledge of current community and content distribution channels, and the role they play in community and publishing strategy
- Minimum two years' experience driving editorial publishing processes, from draft to execution
- Manage full cycle of communication including sourcing the supporting assets, and overseeing the localization process for regional teams
- Manage editorial content calendars and milestones, delivering content to cross-functional and regional teams
- Establishing player feedback loops with players and development teams, providing meaningful reporting on community sentiment, concerns, and suggestions
- Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, or relevant job experience
- Project management training and experience
- Proficiency with content publishing tools such as Content stack, Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, Sprinklr, and Wrike
- A passionate gamer possessing ample experience with Diablo games
- Existing strong personal network within communities.
- Experience with mobile game communities and mobile gaming in general.
