Associate Sales Manager
Position Overview
Our client in the consumer products/manufacturing industry is looking for an Associate Sales Manager. This is an FTE role that starts as soon as February.
This role is HYBRID. M-Th onsite in Richmond, IL. Friday is work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- 2+ years experience working in a professional environment with formal training or structured processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, multi-sheet lookups, margin calculations)
- Ability to manage and support existing customer accounts (no cold calling experience needed)
- Entrepreneurial mindset with flexibility to take on varied tasks in a small, fast-moving team
- Ability to operate independently during periods when leadership is traveling
- Valid driver's license and access to a car for customer visits and travel
Qualifications
- Support the Director and SVP of Sales with day-to-day sales operations
- Develop an understanding of product categories and account segments
- Maintain and grow 90% pre-existing accounts; assist with new business that originates from manufacturer partnerships
- Within 12 months, assume ownership of B/C-level accounts and manage and growing smaller customer relationships
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and sales reporting
- Prepare accurate customer quotes for a catalog of 800+ SKUs
- Build sales reports and analyze pricing or margin data using Excel
- Coordinate logistics and preparation for semiannual trade shows
- Participate in customer meetings and travel for client visits (1-2 trips per month once ramped up)
- Support miscellaneous entrepreneurial tasks as needed
