Job Description
This is a hands-on Quality Inspector opportunity supporting a confidential manufacturing client in Princeton, IL. The role is plant-floor focused and centered on inspection, containment, and documentation to prevent non-conforming product from escaping the production process.
The ideal candidate has manufacturing quality inspection experience, is comfortable working on the shop floor for most of their shift, and values clear expectations and steady work. This is not an engineering role — it is an execution-level quality support position well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, and reliable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
(Must-have qualifications to be considered)
- Prior manufacturing quality or inspection experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Hands-on experience using basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently with limited direction
- Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

- Familiarity with GD&T
- CMM exposure or inspection experience
- Experience participating in quality audits
- Prior work supporting Quality Engineers or QC leadership
- Manufacturing experience in high-volume or repetitive environments
- Experience building or maintaining inspection reports
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
(Key responsibilities and expectations)
- Perform routine dimensional and mechanical inspections on manufactured parts
- Ensure non-conforming product is contained, logged, and documented per standard work
- Collect, record, and maintain quality and inspection data
- Communicate quality issues clearly to Supervisors and Quality leadership
- Build and update basic Excel-based quality reports
- Support additional quality tasks assigned by QC / Quality Engineering leadership
- Spend the majority of the shift on the plant floor
- Participate in audits or gauge checks as needed
Physical and Environment Requirements
Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include standing and walking for extended periods, occasional sitting, bending, and reaching. The role requires working primarily on the manufacturing plant floor and may involve lifting up to 25–50 lbs, depending on task requirements. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment and wearing required PPE.
