Job Description
Sr. Manufacturing Engineers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Support the development of comprehensive functional testing strategies and environments for drive unit and its components, including stators, motors, inverters, distribution boxes, at various levels of automation. Identify and develop required in-process testing jointly with manufacturing engineering to ensure process risks are mitigated. Implement and create smart, flexible testing systems, and works with local engineering teams to deploy in test equipment purchases. Perform test data analysis to identify trends and establish long-term predictive strategies. Work closely with design engineering from various technical centers to understand product architecture and ensure testing requirements are met, including customer and regulatory needs. Lead the development of testing technologies required to support long term roadmaps in product testing and advanced engineering for EV Propulsion. Support/maintain standard manufacturing/quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA Plan, Functional Safety, etc.) for core processes. Participate in design reviews for new products and simultaneous engineering to ensure the design is following DFT.
RQMTS: 5 years of experience in any occupation of electrical test engineer/technician, manufacturing test engineer or related. Experience must include: Working on functional testing processes and capital equipment procurement; Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma; Lab instruments including DMM, Oscilloscope, debugger, and HIL operation; DFSS/DRM tools including VOC, FMEA, 5-Why, and 8-D; Using statistical tools, DOEs, and Minitab. Salary Range: $109,000-$131,000/yr.
