Job Description
Staff Resident Engineers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Support launch activities and production ramp across Body systems. Be the first point of contact for all issues found on the build sand resolve, calling in support from the DREs and Managers when required. Resolve ongoing production and quality challenges from a first principles approach by helping the manufacturing teams in accurately identifying root causes and defining problem statements. Engage with Product Development, Purchasing & Supplier teams to deliver key milestones during production phase. Responsible for delivery of Body engineering requirements from the prototype phase through to stable production. Represent Body Engineering within the plant team during launch, maintaining strong inter-departmental relationships amongst the other teams. Ensure lessons from robust root cause actions are being driven back to core and advanced engineering teams. Drive continuous improvement efforts in all areas of engineering management with a clear focus on quality, cost, and delivery.
RQMTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field and 2 years [or a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years] of experience in any occupation involving an engineering role related to Body manufacturing equipment and process. Experience must include: Delivering multiple vehicle programs to production, with specific experience in Body commodities; Working with the first-principles physics – the loads, forces, overall function of the system and key attributes; CATIA V5 or V6; Leading cross functional teams to understand and resolve complex production concerns; Solving complex problems using advanced problem-solving techniques to determine containment, root cause analysis, and countermeasure. Salary Range: $126,000-$167,000/yr.
