Job Description

Lead Pressman (2 openings) - Direct Hire - 2nd and 3rd shifts

Park Ridge, IL area - $35-40 per hour

Lead Pressman operates and optimizes multi-color offset presses to produce high-quality print and packaging. They are responsible for job setup (mounting plates, ink keys), maintaining color consistency, troubleshooting, performing maintenance, and leading the press crew. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

•Press Operation & Setup: Lead all setup activities, including, but not limited to, loading stock, setting ink keys, mounting plates, and ensuring accurate registration and color density.

•Quality Control: Make final quality decisions regarding color, registration, and overall print appearance.

•Crew Leadership: Direct 2nd pressmen and feeders in daily operations, workflow, and safety procedures.

•Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine and advanced maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of mechanical or technical press issues.

•Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including, but not limited to, waste, run speeds, and downtime. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

•Experience: Extensive experience in offset printing, specifically with Heidelberg, Komori, or Mitsubishi presses.

•Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of color theory, UV/conventional inks, and paper stock.

•Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and move continuously around heavy machinery. 

•Read job tickets and follow manufacturing instructions.
