Job Description
Essential Functions
- Under immediate supervision, and on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed six months, performs a variety of unskilled manual labor and/or simple clerical duties. Maintains clean, safe and attractive public use areas on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds (DSF).
- Sweeps, scrubs and polishes floors for maintenance of the public and non-public buildings on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
- Moves heavy equipment and office equipment including chairs, desks, filing cabinets.
- Performs a variety of routine clerical duties.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of eight years of elementary school.
- Prefers elementary knowledge of materials, tools, equipment, and practices essential to grounds and building maintenance.
- Prefers experience with the operation of simple equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Prefers experience with understanding and following oral and written instructions.
- Prefers the possession of an appropriate and valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a name-based sex offender registry check.
- Must be able to work manual labor task for up to 10 hours a day or more.
- This position may require the possession of a valid driver’s license.Â
- This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567©). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- This position may require the ability to complete a good deal of walking, standing, pushing, and pulling.
