About the Role
APL Engineered Materials, Inc. is looking for a Safety Specialist to manage and maintain our environmental, health, and safety programs.
This role is ideal for someone with some hands-on exposure to OSHA and EPA regulations in a manufacturing environment. Training on company-specific systems will be provided.
You will work closely with a small, collaborative team to maintain a safe workplace while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage regulatory reporting for OSHA, EPA, IEPA, and other relevant agencies
- Maintain permits, compliance records, and reporting accounts
- Conduct safety audits and facility inspections
- Coordinate inspections with vendors and inspectors
- Maintain employee safety programs and training records
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Perform hands-on safety tasks on the production floor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in safety, environmental science, chemistry, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience with OSHA/EPA compliance in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in both office and production floor environments
- Willingness to learn company-specific reporting systems
