Job Description

Our client, a leading medical & aerospace manufacturer in Wheeling, seeks a Lead Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the preventative and general maintenance on our CNC/Swiss production equipment throughout our manufacturing facility. The technician will provide maintenance and troubleshooting specifically on our Swiss, Lathes, Wire EDM, Grinders, or Mill Machines. In addition to providing critical service and repairs, we are looking for experienced candidates that have 7 plus years’ experience. The technician may be required to perform other maintenance functions as required while in a clean, climate-controlled facility.    Job tasks include:  
  • Assist with the installation, movement and disassembly of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain, overhaul, modify and repair machinery and stationary equipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting of CNC circuitry utilizing multi-meter & other diagnostic techniques.
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly upon completion of repairs, modifications and installations.
  • Read and interpret manuals schematics and process specifications to visualize layouts and guide work.
  • Collaborate with production departments to ensure maintenance requirements are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment practicing 5S principles, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement related to maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Maintain all equipment by performing routine repair work, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance.  
  • Partner with onsite vendors for machine repairs
  Job Requirements: 
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school certificate/degree in machine repair or machine maintenance preferred.
  • 5+ years Maintenance Service Technician experience. 
  • Experience working within manufacturing environment
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office and PM management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated history of recommending suggestions for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Experience with following equipment preferred: EDM/Sinker, Laser, Swiss Lathes, Grinders, & Milling.
