Job Description
Our client, an automotive manufacturer located in the Skokie/Evanston area, seeks a CNC Machine Operator to work 1st shift (6AM-2:30PM). This position offers medical, dental, and retirement benefits. Note that candidates will be tested on blueprint reading and precision instrument reading during the interview - they must have this experience. Responsibilities:- Operate Computer Numerical Controlled Machines to mill, turn and drill metal parts.
- Required to perform in a machine work cell as one operator on multiple machines
- Monitor parts and machine to ensure the machine is operating properly.
- Perform required machine maintenance per maintenance work instructions
- Check and measure dimensions of completed part to ensure the part conforms to Engineering and Quality Assurance specifications.
- Additional duties to be assigned by department supervisor as needed.
- Formal classroom training / certification for CNC machine set-up and operate strongly preferred
- Must know how to read and interpret blueprints
- Must have excellent quality standards
- GD&T and Shop Mathematics
- Must know how to utilize precision measuring tools and instruments
- Must be able to record dimensional data as required.
- CNC programming skills G-code, M-code a plus
- Fanuc Controller skills a plus
- Experience with live tooling a plus
- Knowledge on how to make adjustments on the CNC machine to correct faulty programming
