Job Description
Our client, a chemical manufacturer on Chicago's south side, is seeking a Field Sampling Technician who can handle a mix of driving, fieldwork, and light technical tasks. This role supports environmental sampling services and spends about half of their week in the lab and half in the field.
The position involves driving to customer sites to collect wastewater and environmental samples, working in industrial environments, starting early in the morning depending on the route, following clear sampling procedures, supporting basic lab tasks with training provided, and maintaining the company vehicle as the primary user.
Successful candidates are extremely reliable, comfortable working in unpleasant environments, professional with customers, organized, able to follow instructions, and must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Prior field service, delivery, utilities, environmental work, or any exposure to sampling or lab tasks is helpful but not required. This role is not a fit for candidates seeking clean lab-only work or those who struggle with odors, wastewater, outdoor conditions, or attendance issues.
