Job Description
Our client, a precision machine shop in Arlington Heights, is seeking a QC Technician. This role is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections, reading and interpreting blueprints, using precision measurement tools, and supporting the shop’s quality systems. The position involves working closely with machinists to verify part conformity, documenting inspection results, and maintaining an organized inspection area.
Typical responsibilities include inspecting machined components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision tools, performing first article inspections, completing in-process checks on the shop floor, reviewing job travelers and specifications, and assisting with nonconformance documentation. Experience with CMMs, optical comparators, or surface finish measurement is helpful in this environment.
Candidates should have prior QC experience in a machining or manufacturing setting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established inspection procedures. Familiarity with ISO-based quality systems is preferred.
