Job Description
The Design Engineer is responsible for developing and testing unique designs for products.

Responsibilities

Lead development of new products/components and enhancements of existing product offerings

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and launch

Participate in the creation and modification of prototypes

Directly interface with customers for project status, design proposals, information collection, and functional assistance

Prepare and present technical reports to team members and management

Design products & components using CAD & other engineering software

Analyze and interpret technical data to ensure designs meet standards and requirements

Develop and execute engineering test plans for new product qualification

Support sustaining engineering efforts on current product lines

Support engineering documentation procedures which include ECR's and new spec releases

Analyze and disposition first piece inspection reports & PPAPs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

7+ years of experience in product design and development

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Technical background or experience with motor component design (AC, DC, BLDC) and gearbox component design (gears, shafts, bearings, castings)

Experience with product testing and evaluation

Ability to create and/or work with product performance specifications

Understanding of relevant manufacturing processes

Experience with DFMEA's and failure analysis.

Travel

This position may require visits to customer facilities for product evaluation, trouble shooting, progress discussions, proposals, and general customer support.
