Job Description
Our hospitality client is seeking a freelance Digital Marketing Specialist to join their team through the summer. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong marketer to support lifecycle marketing initiatives while working across email, SMS, and web content. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience executing campaigns, optimizing performance through data, and managing digital touchpoints that enhance customer loyalty and engagement.
- Type: Freelance (20-30 hours a week)
- Duration: 12 weeks (Through the summer, possibility to extend)
- Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite
- Office: State-of-the-art office located in River North, Chicago
- Onsite Schedule: Flexible in-office days
In this role, you'll be responsible for building and optimizing email and SMS campaigns using Braze (or a similar platform) and updating website content through WordPress. This position is well-suited for someone with a strong understanding of lifecycle marketing, customer loyalty programs, and web content management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute and optimize existing lifecycle marketing campaigns across email and SMS channels
- Manage automated customer journeys including welcome series, onboarding flows, engagement campaigns, and retention programs
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as open rates, click through rates, conversion rates, and revenue attribution
- Maintain the marketing calendar and ensure timely execution of scheduled campaigns
- Manage day to day website operations including content updates, page creation, and general site maintenance
- Run A/B tests to improve website conversion rate
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize campaign and site performance
- Track and report on ROI and the overall business impact of marketing activities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience setting up and executing email and SMS campaigns, ideally using Braze or a similar marketing automation platform
- Familiarity with WordPress for website content updates and ongoing site maintenance
- Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing and customer loyalty programs
- Ability to adapt to existing systems, tools, and processes
- Data driven mindset with experience creating reports and using insights to optimize performance
