Rate of Pay: $124,093.00 per year 

 

Duties: 

Responsible for key aspects of projects and for completing assignments with limited oversight, under the guidance of licensed professionals. Perform regular nationwide travel to support forensic investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations, including surveying, documenting distress, field testing, collecting data and samples, and preparing site visit reports. Mobilize field testing equipment, including installation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Install steel repair retrofits under direction and guidance. Analyze field data, perform research, and review modern and historic construction documents. Analyze governing bridge codes and design guidelines to facilitate analysis, problem solving, and repair designs. Complete structural analysis of concrete, steel, wood, masonry and other structural systems using a combination of hand calculations and analysis software. Assist with drafting and preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and final client deliverables, including various construction documents, specifications, and written reports. Interface with project teams, clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.

 

Requirements: 

Employer will accept a master’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering or related field and three (3) years of experience in inspection, analysis or design of highway or railroad bridges, or related civil infrastructure. 

 

Position requires: 

(1.) Experience managing or serving as project lead on small engineering projects for bridge owners, contractors, or stakeholders. 

(2.) Experience using CADD and Microsoft Office to prepare client deliverables, engineering drawings, and engineering reports. 

(3.) Experience in the inspection of bridge structures or related civil infrastructure, including the use of nondestructive testing techniques. 

(4.) Experience performing technical writing for development of inspection and testing reports, technical briefings pertaining to structural engineering, and letters of professional opinion regarding structural engineering. 

(5.) Experience performing structural analysis and design to ensure compliance with relevant AASHTO, AISC and ACI codes. 

(6.) Experience performing modeling and analysis of bridges or other structures using at least one structural analysis or finite element software. 

(7.) Experience working hands-on with power tools, metalworking, and woodworking

 

25% domestic travel required.
