Job Description
The Adler Planetarium is seeking a Guest Service Representative to join our dynamic team located on Chicago's Museum Campus. This position fulfills multiple responsibilities: gate attending at the main box office and theaters; ticket sales at the accessible entrance; group processing; and orientation. This is a union position with the Adler Planetarium Workers United, AFSCME Council 31.
This individual will also be responsible for:
- Greet guests with a friendly demeanor and verify tickets, discounts, and admission eligibility.
- Orienting groups on buses during intake and assisting with departure. Organizing and managing lunch space. Greeting and orienting groups to Planet Explorers and enforcing rules
- Verifying and selling tickets at theaters, ushering guests, organizing seating, and ensuring guest safety.
- Redeem and sell tickets, ensuring accurate transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service on-site and to those contacting the museum.
- Set up and display signage indoors and outdoors.
