We are currently searching for an experienced Instrument Person to support our Midwest Region located in Collinsville, IL.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

The Instrument Person reports to the Party Chief and is responsible for assisting with field surveying activities, including maintenance of survey equipment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn land surveying. This is an entry level position that will require some overnight travel and working outside in all weather conditions.

The salary range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour.

What you'll be doing:
Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads
Possess effective written and oral communication skills
Basic computer literacy and math skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements
Must be able to work in inclement weather
Pass a drug & background test to obtain security badge clearance

What you need to have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of surveying is preferred
Safety oriented
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role.
Valid driver's license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
