What You Will Do
Operate and perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance/repair on high pressure boilers, turbines, high voltage generators, and auxiliary equipment at an on-site cogeneration plant that produces electricity
Other equipment maintenance includes coolers, steam chillers, air compressors, water softeners, fire pumps, distribution equipment and monitoring equipment, condenser water cooling towers
Troubleshoot equipment to find solutions; make repairs & modifications to equipment
Monitor control board and regulate equipment according to procedures and information obtained from recording and indicating instruments
Responsible for parts ordering and inventory
Other duties as assigned
Position Details:
Location: Naperville, IL
Work hours: 4:00PM - 12:30AM, Sunday to Thursday
Compensation: $38 per hour to start increasing up to $42.50 in the first 2 years (increase every 6 months upon successful completion of training)
This shift has a $0.40 per hour shift differential.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or military environment OR a technical degree or diploma in a maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline
Experience with pressure steam plant operations
Experience with absorption/steam chillers operations
Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
Physical Demands:
Position requires climbing ladders
Position requires lifting 75lb
Position requires work in confined spaces, heat and at heights
Preferred Qualifications:
Stationary Engineers License
Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation, and air conditioning, boiler operations.
1 year of experience with PLC based applications in an industrial environment
1 year of plumbing, pipefitting, pump repair and rebuilding experience
Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging.
Experience in a TPM or Lean SixSigmaenvironment
Refrigeration Certification
Welding experience
Snow Removal Experience
