Position Overview:
As an HVAC Controls Field Engineer you are responsible for providing job site oversight for installation of Building Automation Systems & Controls. Your supervision is critical to the success of our contracting controls business: installation, programming, system integration, functional testing, commissioning, and owner-training for a building automation system. You will collaborate with Design Engineers, System Integrators and Programmers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and fully functional.

Responsibilities:

Supervise electrical subcontractors installation of low voltage network wiring

Assist in trim and terminating wiring to field devices (e.g. sensors, actuators, etc.)

Assemble control panels

Perform field quality control of field wiring

Perform field functional testing of devices

Perform field functional testing of programmed sequence of operations

Perform commissioning of customer graphics

Document field verification and testing

Demonstrate building automation system to owner/operators

Troubleshooting hardware & software (e.g. field program controllers, network Integration of controllers, etc.)

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Understand project scope and execute duties in timeline required

All other duties assigned

Qualifications + Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

B.S. Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering or a related field

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on practical solutions that exceed client expectations

Excellent people skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment

Working knowledge using Microsoft 365 suite + Visio + Bluebeam + Niagara Workbench

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000 in Illinois. The range displayedrepresentsthe pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
