Job Description
Staff Joining Engineers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering group in equipment design, buyoff, and install for all new model launch activities. Assist manufacturing engineering group with cell layout, rack design, and PFMEA development. Responsible to coach safety, quality, and production on standardized work development. Lead continuous improvement activity and drive problem resolution with cross functional groups including production, quality, engineering, and maintenance. Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize productivity while reducing issues in regard to quality, productivity, and maintenance. Assist manufacturing engineering group in successful runoff of equipment and ensure product and process meet all plant KPIs for mass production. Work hand in hand with operations to mitigate production down time and increase process efficiencies. Responsible to lead projects, define project scopes, and manage capital budgets. Supervise team of engineers.
RQMTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in any occupation supporting joining processes in an automotive environment. Experience must include working with joining technologies including RSW, GMAW, SPR, FDS, LBW, Dispense, TOX, DAW on Ferrous and Non-Ferrous sheet metal; performing plant floor troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintaining the welding and joining equipment; working with robotic welding and joining; using GD&T, 2D & 3D modeling experience; and utilizing weld assembly tooling. Salary Range: $126,000-$167,000/yr.
