Genuine Builders Inc. located at 301 South Highway 81, Arlington, SD 57212 (605) 203-1362 is seeking 32 temporary full-time Construction Laborers to work at 1101 N CR 3100 E, Sheldon, IL 60966, and Multiple Cities and Towns in Iroquois County from 09/06/2026  to 12/15/2026 to perform lesser tasks involving manual labor at concrete construction site. Prepare the site for placing of concrete by loading and unloading materials, running string-lines, cutting wood with with skill saw, using a sledgehammer to pound stakes into the ground, digging and leveling the earth using shovels, pickaxes and plate-packers. Under supervision, lift, carry, fasten, strip, oil, and set wooden and metal concrete forms using simple hand and power tools. Assist with placing concrete by using wheelbarrows, concrete rakes, shovels, walk-behind concrete vibrator. Clean up waste materials and caulk joints. 3 months of concrete construction experience required. Some weekend work. Must be able to handle temperature extremes. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 50 yards. Must be able to read and understand tape measures, use hand and power tools, and read blueprints. Increased work hours during favorable weather/as needed. Must be able to obtain a driver's license. Will be exposed to repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, step-up, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying. Must be willing to stay in hotel rooms with coworkers if necessary. Must be able to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions or freezing temperatures. Will travel to worksites within the area of intended employment. No prior education is required. On the job, training will be provided.

$27.00/hr. Approx. 40 hours/week, from Monday - Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Applicants may be offered a higher wage than the advertised wage based on experience and/or merit. $40.50/hr for overtime. Up to 10 hours of overtime may be available but not guaranteed.

All deductions from the worker’s paycheck will be made as required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay biweekly by check. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee.  The employer will provide housing as an option to employees living outside the regular commuting distance. Employees who elect to live in the housing will have an additional $250.00 deducted per biweekly paycheck for rent and utilities. Optional daily transportation will be provided to and from the worksite.

In the first workweek, the cost of transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be directly reimbursed to every worker. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. In the first workweek, daily subsistence for travel to the place of employment will be reimbursed at a rate of at least $16.78/day to a maximum of $68.00/day with receipts. Also, workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
