Job Description

Schaeffler Motion Technologies USA, LLC seeks two Sr. Customer Quality Specialists in Deer Park, IL The Sr. Customer Quality Specialists will serve as a technical specialist supporting customer quality concerns, warranty field returns, and launch activities to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle. Responsible for coordinating pre-analysis of returned parts, sorting and containment actions, and supporting production locations during launch and series production. The role supports quality related topics linked to product design and manufacturing concepts, oversees change management activities with and without major design changes, and monitors product quality performance in cooperation with customers and production locations. The Sr. Customer Quality Specialists will drive and support structured problem-solving activities across production plants, suppliers, engineering, and operations and coordinate cross-site problem resolution for assigned product lines while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Telecommuting is permitted 2 days/week.

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a foreign equivalent.

Qualified applicants must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in the automotive industry as Quality Specialist, Engineer, or a substantially similar position, performing the following duties: (1) Leading problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives using structured methodologies such as 8D or DMAIC; (2) Applying statistical quality tools such as Minitab, SPC, and regression analysis; (3) Managing warranty and field quality activities, including warranty metrics analysis, NTF reduction, claim management, and technical evaluation of returned parts; (4) Using OEM customer quality portals to monitor performance and ensure compliance with customer expectations; (5) Applying quality systems and tools such as ISO 9001, FMEA, MSA, AQP, VDA; (6) Utilizing data visualization tools such as Power BI to develop KPI dashboards and reports; (7) Applying technical knowledge of complex electromechanical systems to conduct warranty return failure analysis; and (8) Using automotive related analysis tools such as Vector CANalyzer or Canoe and utilizing measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters for ECU modules and engine sensor testing.

Rate of pay: $107,900 – $110,920 / year
